Altis v24 has arrived, and this release is all about sharpening the developer experience. Periodically we take a look at smaller issues and “papercuts” to make sure we’re providing a refined experience for developers and end users, and v24 is our latest iteration.
From a modernized CLI to streamlined PHP upgrades, easier domain management, and refreshed documentation, we have focused on making Altis more powerful and more intuitive to use. Local Server and Altis Core also get important updates to keep everything running fast and reliably.
A modern Altis CLI
The CLI has been given a major refresh, rebuilt on the latest JavaScript standards. This update delivers:
- Stronger security foundations
- Greater stability and reliability
- A solid base for faster future improvements
The CLI is central to the Altis developer experience. With this update, we can keep building new features more quickly, and we want to hear from you. What would make the CLI even more useful in your day-to-day work? Try the new version and tell us what you think.
A smarter dashboard
The Altis Dashboard is your command center, and in v24 it gets a set of thoughtful improvements.
Self-service PHP upgrades
We introduced self-service PHP upgrades in the last release. In v24, we have smoothed out the tricky edge cases, making the process more reliable and giving you even greater control over your infrastructure. Just like with Composer-managed WordPress versions, this is about reducing friction and giving you the flexibility to move at your own pace.
Domains management
Domain management is now simpler and more transparent:
- DNS issues are handled more gracefully
- Certificate validation errors are explained clearly
- You can retry validation directly from the Dashboard
- Domains and subdomains can now be deleted with a single action
No more second-guessing why a domain is failing to connect. The Dashboard gives you the clarity and control you need.
Local Server that keeps up
The Local Server stack has been updated with the latest versions of its third-party dependencies. These updates keep your development environment stable, reliable, and aligned with modern tools.
Core improvements
Altis Core continues to evolve behind the scenes. With v24, we have rolled in the latest module and library updates, delivering a host of bug fixes and quality improvements.
Better documentation
Great documentation should be as useful as the product itself. Our developer resources have been refined again, shaped by feedback from our customers and partners. If you see opportunities to make the docs even more helpful, let us know.
What’s next?
Behind the scenes, we’ve been working on some improvements to your workflows which we’ll be launching soon. This includes better integration between your environments and your GitHub repositories, making switching repositories even easier.
Altis v24 is designed to make your workflows smoother, safer, and faster. But we are not finished. We want to hear directly from you.
What would make the CLI more powerful in your hands?
